
Club Rules
• All skaters and families should demonstrate respect & encourage each other regardless of skill level
• Skaters & families display sportsmanlike behavior at all times
• Skaters will have equal access to the ice during club sessions
• Profanity, derogatory comments and bullying are strictly prohibited. Any skater who is a victim of bullying should inform their Coach or parent(s) immediately. If any person whose acts, statements, or conduct are considered detrimental to the welfare of the Cobourg Figure Skating Club, they are subject to a warning at the first offence by a Coach or Executive member. Repeat offenders risk the loss of membership privileges, suspension and expulsion.
Ice Etiquette
• Arrive ahead of the start of your session to be ready to go on the ice; and leave the ice promptly when your session has completed.
• Skaters who are in a lesson performing to music shall have the right-of-way over all other skaters.
• Skaters should not interfere with a student and a coach during a lesson.
• No food, candy, drinks or chewing gum is allowed on the ice.
• Children under the age of 12 must have a designated adult present at the arena at all times to supervise their child’s skating session.
• Due to Skate
• Use of cellular phones, headsets, iPods and MP3 players are strictly prohibited on the ice. Please leave the ice to utilize any of these devices.
• The rink doors must be closed at all times during a skating session.
Guest Skating
All guest skaters must be registered with Skate Canada. Please bring your Skate Canada number with you and sign-in at the Music Room. Guest skating rate is $5.00 per ½ hour of ice time.
Club Bulletin Boards
Notices pertaining to club events and other related notices will be posted on the 2 bulletin boards located in the lobby of Pad 2. These will also be available on our web-site.
Music Rules & Duties
Music is played at the ice surface during all lessons. Skaters are encouraged to play their solo music during their lesson or have another selection played if time permits, if no other skaters are waiting to play music. Music requests are on a first come-first serve basis. However, music requests made by coaching staff during student lessons, take first priority.
Aseparate 'Music Fee' cheque made for $30 upon registration, payable Feb. 1, 2010, will be refunded if 2 or more music room shifts are completed. All parents of skaters registered with the club will be required to play music, with the exception of the KidSkate program. If you are not available to play music on the days/dates assigned to you, it is your responsibility to find an alternate. Our club operates on a volunteer basis to try and keep our costs as low as possible, if everyone helps a little, we can achieve a lot!
Dressing Rooms
Dressing rooms are available for all skaters to change their skates. The lower number dressing rooms are Coaches and Senior Skaters only. The higher number rooms are Family Dressing rooms.
Lost & Found
There is a box located in the music room. Please look for missing articles A.S.A.P.
Club Office
The CFSC office is located upstairs in Pad 2. No skates are allowed upstairs. Adult supervision is required in the club office at all times. During test days and competitions, judges and officials only are allowed in the club office.
Program Assistants
This group of trained volunteers participate in the KidSkate and CanSkate programs. They are under the direction of the professional coaching staff.
